Traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions for treating male infertility

1. Take one dog kidney, 10 grams each of Cnidium monnieri and Schisandra chinensis, 20 grams of Cuscuta chinensis, 12 grams each of Psoralea corylifolia and Angelica sinensis, 30 grams of Mantis egg case, 15 grams each of Rubus idaeus, Allium tuberosum seeds, and Dioscorea opposita, and 9 grams each of Plantago asiatica (wrapped), Anemarrhena asphodeloides, and Phellodendron chinense. Decocted in water and taken once a day.

2. Take 9 grams each of wolfberry, dodder seed, schisandra fruit, raspberry, and plantain seed (wrapped); 15 grams of codonopsis root; 9 grams each of atractylodes rhizome, poria cocos, and epimedium; 12 grams of dipsacus root; 9 grams of angelica root; and 6 grams of licorice root. Decoct in water and take one dose daily.

3. Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Phellodendron chinense, Paeonia lactiflora, Paeonia veitchii, Plantago asiatica (wrapped), Paeonia suffruticosa, each 9g; Rehmannia glutinosa (raw and prepared), each 12g; Salvia miltiorrhiza, 30g; Epimedium brevicornu, 15g; Lonicera japonica, 30g; Glycyrrhiza uralensis, 6g. Decoct in water and take one dose daily. Suitable for male infertility caused by semen non-liquefaction.

4. Centipede 18g, Angelica sinensis, white peony root, and licorice root 60g each. First, dry the Angelica sinensis, white peony root, and licorice root, grind them into a fine powder, and sift through a 90-120 mesh sieve. Then, grind the centipede into a fine powder. Mix the two powders evenly. Take half to one packet twice a day, morning and evening, on an empty stomach with white wine or rice wine. One course of treatment is 15 days. Suitable for infertility caused by impotence and premature ejaculation.

5. Take 6 grams each of stir-fried fennel seeds and Sichuan lovage rhizome, 10 grams each of corydalis rhizome, myrrh, cattail pollen, stir-fried talc, and Sichuan achyranthes root, 12 grams each of angelica root and red peony root, and 3 grams of amber powder (to be taken with water). Decoct in water and take one dose daily. This is suitable for infertility caused by frequent lower abdominal and scrotal distending pain and cramping during intercourse, and inability to ejaculate.

6. Calcined dragon bone and calcined oyster shell, 15 grams each; Schisandra chinensis and mantis egg case, 6 grams each; Poria cocos, calcined white ochre, Euryale ferox, Cuscuta chinensis, Allium tuberosum seed, and Rosa laevigata, 9 grams each. Decoct in water and take one dose daily, twice a day. Suitable for infertility caused by kidney deficiency, premature ejaculation, and seminal emission.

7. 20g of Houttuynia cordata, 15g each of Pteris vittata, Smilax glabra, Plantago asiatica, Leonurus japonicus, and Salvia miltiorrhiza, 10g of Echinops latifolius, 12g each of Melia toosendan, Curcuma zedoaria, Dioscorea hypoglauca, and Cistanche deserticola, 10g each of Ligustrum lucidum, Paeonia suffruticosa, and Ophiopogon japonicus, and 8g of Glycyrrhiza uralensis. Decoct in water and take one dose daily. Suitable for infertility caused by chronic prostatitis and seminal vesiculitis.

8. Prepare a decoction of 15g each of Rehmannia glutinosa and Dipsacus asper, 30g of Lonicera japonica, 15g each of Taraxacum mongolicum and Salvia miltiorrhiza, 9g each of Phellodendron chinense, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Paeonia lactiflora (red and white), Angelica sinensis, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. Take one dose daily. This is suitable for men with infertility due to excessive azoospermia caused by chronic prostatitis and seminal vesiculitis.

9. Prepared Rehmannia glutinosa, Cuscuta chinensis, Lycium barbarum, and Psoralea corylifolia, 30g each; Rubus idaeus, 25g; Poria cocos, 20g; Plantago asiatica, 10g; stir-fried Allium tuberosum seeds and Schisandra chinensis, 15g each; Cinnamomum cassia and Aquilaria sinensis, 10g each; Cervus nippon antler and Juglans regia kernel, 5g each; Morinda officinalis, 25g. Grind the above herbs into powder, mix with honey to form pills weighing 9g each. Take 1 pill each time, 3 times a day.

10. Atractylodes macrocephala 15g, Poria cocos 9g, Polygala tenuifolia 6g, Bupleurum chinense 1.5g, Curcuma longa 3g, Paeonia lactiflora 30g, Angelica sinensis 9g, Morinda officinalis 6g, Citrus reticulata 1.5g, Sinapis alba 6g, Massa fermentata 1.5g, Ophiopogon japonicus and Paeonia suffruticosa 9g each. Decoct in water and take one dose daily. Suitable for male infertility caused by liver qi stagnation.

11. Prepared Rehmannia root 30g, Scrophularia root 15g, Ophiopogon root, raw Rehmannia root, Moutan bark, Dioscorea root, Dendrobium, and sea cucumber each 9g. Decocted in water and taken orally, one dose per day. Suitable for male infertility caused by heat accumulation in the seminal vesicle.

12. Prepared Polygonum multiflorum 15g, Allium tuberosum seeds, Angelica sinensis, and Rehmannia glutinosa 12g each, Cuscuta chinensis 10g, Rubus idaeus, Epimedium, and Achyranthes bidentata 12g each. Decocted in water and taken orally, one dose per day, one month as one course of treatment. Suitable for male infertility caused by kidney yang deficiency.

13. Prepared aconite root 16-19g, prepared rehmannia root, dodder seed, achyranthes root, and wolfberry fruit 20g each, prepared licorice root 6g, and epimedium 10g. Decocted in water and taken once daily. Suitable for infertility due to kidney deficiency and spermatorrhea.

14. 30g raw coix seed, 10g raw rehmannia root, 15g ophiopogon root, 10g privet fruit, 20-30g talc, 10g poria cocos, 12g polygonum cuspidatum. One dose daily, decocted in water and taken orally. One course of treatment is 15 days. This is suitable for male infertility caused by sperm non-liquefaction.

15. 100 grams each of Epimedium, Lycium barbarum, Dioscorea opposita, and Cistanche deserticola. Decocted in water and taken orally, one dose every two days, twice a day, for 2-3 months as one course of treatment.

16. 30g each of Epimedium and Yangqi Stone, 15g of Cuscuta Seed, 18g of Rehmannia Root, 9g of Ligustrum Lucidum, 12g of Dioscorea Rhizome, 9g of Schisandra Fruit, 18g each of Deer Antler Glue and Tortoise Shell. Decoct in water and take one dose daily.
